Introduction
No country can grow rapidly until its human resources
are developed and empowered. After decades of experimening with various development
models, this has emerged as the bottom line.
Human
Resource Development Centre (HURDEC P. Ltd.) was established as management
training and consulting organization by a group of professionals in late 1989.
Its objective is to facilitate people-centered development by strengthening
the human resource capabilities of donor supported projects, national and
international NGOs, the private sector, local bodies and government agencies.
HURDEC does this through training, planning workshops and consultancy services
for Project Cycle Management, Organization Development, HRD, good governance,
decentralization and strengthening of community organizations, among others.
HURDEC believes in development, which is based on the needs and interests
of men and women stakeholders. It emphasizes a process approach for empowerment
and capacity building of partners. Programs must be accountable and transparent
to all, especially to the primary agents in any development endeavor.
Values
A spirit of teamwork, a strong sense of work ethics
(e.g. honesty, integrity, and transparency), sincere commitment and an all
out effort to deliver the best results and achieve organizational excellence
characterize HURDEC members.
A strong sense of identification with the organization has led to the development
of a nurturing and supportive environment in which the personal and professional
needs of all members are addressed.
HURDEC accepts assignments depending on the nature of work, availability and
agreement of skilled professionals, suitability of the time frame, the price
and relationship with the client.
Methodologies
HURDEC believes in working with the client agency and
not for them. This works because the process uses the accumulated experiences
of the client agency and strategically combines them with HURDEC's. And via
this synergistic teamwork, HURDEC helps in evolving practical, cost-effective
and applicable solutions.
Resources
HURDEC has a resource base of experienced, multi-cultural
professional consultants, trainers and facilitators with degrees from USA,
UK, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Thailand, India and Nepal.
HURDEC has 12 full-time professionals, with work experience ranging from 10
to 24 years. It has a resource person pool of a dozen professionals in various
disciplines who can be recruited as per requirement.
As part of on-going learning process, HURDEC professionals have undergone
training and coaching in gender and development, PRA, organization development,
appreciative inquiry, process consultancy and participatory monitoring and
evaluation.
In 1995, HURDEC (India) was registered in New Delhi, India to provide management
training and development consulting services to NGOs, INGOs, donor-supported
projects and the private sector. In April 1999, HURDEC (SA) Pty. Ltd. was
registered in South Africa to provide management training and development
consulting services to countries in Southern Africa.
Achievements
The commitment of HURDEC professionals, their work ethics,
the spirit of teamwork and their search for excellence is manifested in the
number and variety of successful assignments carried out by them in the last
fourteen years.
A summary of about 1000 assignments awarded under competitive conditions,
is enclosed. This includes assignments carried out in 24 countries of Asia,
